As part of its 62nd anniversary celebrations, IPB University demonstrated its commitment to modern information management through the inauguration of the IPB Archive Exhibition. This exhibition not only displays historical documents, but also marks the transformation of archive management on campus.

With the theme “Beyond Archives: Empowering Information, Inspiring Openness,” the IPB Archive Exhibition symbolizes the shifting role of archives. From mere storage spaces, they have become dynamic, inclusive, and inspiring information centers.

Prof Agus Purwito, Secretary of the Institute (SI) at IPB University, expressed his appreciation. “We have witnessed the IPB Archive Exhibition together. I am confident that all archives related to our assets are stored here. Now we can feel that the archives at IPB University are well-organized.”

A similar statement was made by Drs Badollahi Mustafa, MLib, the first Head of the Archives Unit at IPB University who had the opportunity to attend. “We once said that if archives are in disarray, assets will be lost. Congratulations to the IPB University Archives Unit for proudly developing better archiving practices.”

This event was not only a gathering, but also an opportunity to establish connections with regional archives. A total of 23 archivists and faculty archive managers attended, along with representatives from the Bogor Regency Library and Archives Office and the Bogor City Library and Archives Office. 

“It looks much neater and more organized. Hopefully, this can inspire every work unit within IPB,” said Adelyna, STP, MM, archivist at the Directorate of Human Resources at IPB University, representing the enthusiasm of the participants.

The series of events was interactive, starting with an archive tour that guided participants through the history of IPB University’s transformation from a rubber plantation to an academic center, a symbolic handover of archives, and interactive discussions on archive management that enlivened the event.

The inauguration of the IPB Archive Exhibition opened a space for exhibition and declaration as a strategic step towards sustainable university management. Archives serve as pillars supporting transparency, accountability, and a source of inspiration for future generations.
