Rector: The Majority of IPB University Students Are Goal-getters. Given a Target of 100, They Can Achieve 150

IPB University once again confirmed 800 graduates in the Second Graduation Ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Year, which took place at Grha Widya Wisuda (GWW), Dramaga Campus, on Wednesday (9/24). The graduates consisted of 22 doctoral program graduates, 147 master’s program graduates, and 631 bachelor’s program graduates.

In his speech, IPB University Rector Prof Arif Satria said that the majority of IPB students have the character of goal-getters or individuals who are target-oriented.

“Based on talent mapping using artificial intelligence (AI), IPB University students like to be given targets. If given a target of 100, they can achieve 150,” said Prof Arif in front of thousands of graduates, families, and invited guests. He emphasized that this goal-getter character is one of the main DNA of IPB University students.

In addition to being results-oriented, Prof Arif said, IPB University students also have empathy, social awareness, and a competitive spirit. However, there are still aspects that need to be strengthened, namely a directive and authoritative attitude in leadership.

Prof Arif also highlighted the importance of a future mindset, learning agility, and grit for graduates. He reminded them that success is not only determined by intellectual intelligence, but more by character.

“Research shows that the main factors for success are honesty, discipline, social skills, and the support of a life partner. Intelligence quotient (IQ) is actually ranked 21st,” he explained.

IPB University, he continued, continues to adapt through the 2025 Curriculum (K2025) which is based on talent mapping and AI integration. IPB University also provides 8.500 free micro-credential accounts to strengthen global learning. Through various mentoring programs, including One Village One CEO (OVOC), students have even succeeded in exporting products to Malaysia, Singapore, and India before graduating.

“IPB University graduates are true learners with a spirit of future leadership. Don’t just follow the flow, but be leaders of change,” said Prof Arif. He closed his speech with the hope that graduates would maintain their integrity, spirit of lifelong learning, and continue to work for the community.

At the same time, the Director of Career Development, Entrepreneurship, and Alumni Relations, drh Sukma Kamajaya, MM, invited alumni to continue actively contributing through the IPB Alumni Association (HA).

He said that this year marks the end of the management period, which will be closed with the IPB Alumni Homecoming Festival on December 18-21, 2025, at the IPB Dramaga Campus. This four-day event includes the People’s Festival and Indonesian Cuisine, the Nusantara Busareko Exhibition, the Food Security, Energy, and Agromaritime Downstreaming Exhibition and Event, as well as the Completion of the IPB HA Legacy. “We are targeting around 50 thousand alumni to return to campus,” said Sukma.

Additionally, he encouraged graduates to participate in a tracer study to help improve educational quality and support IPB University’s global ranking. “IPB is currently ranked 399th globally, and together with our alumni, we are determined to achieve an even better position by 2026,” he said.
