Happy Friday Muslims, Rahimakumullah.
Praise and gratitude, Alhamdulillah, let us convey the presence of Allah Robbul’izzati, on this Friday we do our obligations as a Muslim, namely Friday prayers in congregation in this lovely masjid. Shalawat and greetings, let us convey it to our uswatun hasanah, the great prophet Muhammad SAW. Also to all his family and friends, hopefully all of us who are present here, we will receive intercession from him on the day of Qiyamat Aamiin.
Starting a short sermon on this occasion, as usual the preacher has a testament to myself and to all the congregation, let us truly devote to Allah, that is to do all the commands of Allah and stay away from His prohibitions.
Happy Friday Muslims, Rahimakumullah.
In general, all the commemoration of Islamic holidays, only feel the nuances of Islam when the commemoration is carried out. After that it will not leave a trace, only a few could take ibrah (lessons) to serve as guidelines and benchmarks in everyday life. Including commemorating the Islamic New Year 1442 Hijriyah, people should compete to actualize the positive values that exist on the anniversary of the Islamic New Year. In general, the value teach us that with the spirit of hijrah we change our state of being a better, more creative, more innovative and more productive human being. So that our existence on this earth is benefited for others.
This is a correction for us, let us not become a people who are only happy to do routine ceremonies at a cost that is not small, but there is no real evidence in life. Therefore, let us continue to decorate our days with the values of the very noble hijrah.
Among our efforts so that these noble values are maintained are:
First, always remember the lessons learned on the Islamic New Year. Remembering is a process of reminiscing about everything we hear and read, because usually hearing and reading good things requires a long and deep process of contemplation until it really sinks deep into the heart.
Second, after being deeply absorbed, always try to practice it istiqamah. This is the most difficult and most important stage, but nevertheless practicing knowledge is part of an obligation that cannot be negotiated. Even in one of the expressions of mahfuzhat it is stated, “knowledge without charity is like a tree that does not bear fruit”.
Knowledge will disappear little by little if it is not practiced. Meanwhile, accumulating knowledge, without practicing, will only be a burden. As exemplified by Allah SWT in the Al-Quran surah Al Jumuah verse 5, that a person who has knowledge without being practiced is like a donkey carrying a book on his back, does not get the slightest benefit from the contents of the book.
This is the essence of science, because how can we get the best results if science is not practiced. Even our charity will be rejected if it is not based on knowledge. Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said:
مَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلاً لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْرُنَا فَهُوَ رَدٌّ
Meaning: “Whoever does a practice that is not our teaching, then the practice is rejected.” (HR. Muslim number 1718).
The third one continues to pray fervently. Prayer is a hidden strength that is within us. Prayer can change the destiny of Allah, from bad destiny to good destiny. Rasulullah sahllallahu ‘alaihi wasaalm said in his hadith describes how powerful the power of prayer is,
لَا يَرُدُّ الْقَضَاءَ إِلَّا الدُّعَاءُ وَلَا يَزِيدُ فِي الْعُمْرِ إِلَّا الْبِرُّ
Meaning: “Nothing can reject the predestined provisions of Allah apart from prayer. And nothing can add to one’s life except good deeds. ” (Narrated by At-Tirmidhi).
Prayer is the brain of worship. This means that without prayer our worship is of no value, because the essence of prayer is to connect the closest communication to Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala. Keep praying every day, ask for strength and patience to be able to practice positive values in the journey of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam hijrah.
Hopefully with this Friday sermon that the preacher delivers, we will be motivated to maintain and practice positive values in the commemoration of the Islamic New Year 1442 Hijriyah. Aamiin ya Robbal’aalmiin.
